Introducing Timothy

This is Timothy. We started lessons in June. He has been with Yamaha group class and has learnt about chords. This seems to be his all time favourite. He heard this tune from Little Einstein and figure it out on the piano. Then we added the chords in the Left Hand. I probably took this video in July and till now, he still likes to play this tune - Dvorak's New World Symphony.

This pumpkin tune may be a little late for Halloween, but never too late for enjoyment!

Here's one of my favourite for both my voice student and my piano students, Doe A Deer from The Sound of Music.

Here's my new student Max, he has been working hard on his Beethoven 5th Symphony for Halloween and he did it!

Here's another video of him doing Heart and Soul duet with me. He is learning to listen and play with me and has made good improvement. Keep it up Max!

Pre-Piano Class for 18-24 months

A person who learns to speak English as a baby will sound different from an adult who learns to speak English later in life.

Music is a language. And the most natural way to learn it is to Listen, Speak, Think, Read and then Write.

Building the musical foundation must come before formal piano lessons. Your child needs a musical vocabulary so that he/she can learn to play the instrument more effectively later. The sooner you expose the child’s ears to different tonality, rhythm, dynamics, musical phrases and patterns, the stronger the musical foundation you lay for your child.

This class is for you and your child (18 months - 24 months). The class will have four to six children. The aim of the class is to help your child develop his/her listening skills. Parents should pick up the skills in class and, with the help of a CD, continue the learning process at home.

I like this footage. Milly is amazing, she could 'improvise' her movements on the spot. And look how she could dance to the beat, accentuating the first beat of the music, changing her moves on the strong beat....and it's simply delightful to watch!
